How to Sell More Before the Holidays
November is nearly over. The silly season is probably officially started, and the simple reality is all of us in sales need to think about how we can be productive through the holiday season. How are you going to get the most between now and the end of the year?
Something that all of you should be thinking about is a holiday season outbound calling campaign where literally you call every single customer and every single prospect that you’ve spoken to this year, and say a couple of things:
Say thanks – “thanks very much for your business” or “thanks so much for considering doing business with us earlier in the year.” This is a great way to start a call.
2. Find out what they’re up to for the holidays. Build a bit of rapport, get a bit of connection with them.
3. Ask if they would be interested in catching up in the new year.
The bottom line is, all of you could be on the phone to—depends on how big your portfolio or how much marketing you’ve been done—somewhere between 20 and 100 people over the next three to four weeks if you just did this methodically.
Now what are you going to get out of that? If you’re smart about it and if you’re disciplined about it, it’s going to fill your diary for January when you come back to work. That’s going to let you go on holidays feeling more confident, and it’s going to let you come back from holidays more productive.
There’s a bunch of other holiday selling tips in the kit that we’ve put out online, and it’s absolutely FREE so please make sure you check it out.
But really consider, “How am I going to get the most out of myself and be as productive as I possibly can between now and the end of the year?” because if all you do is focusing on closing deals, you’re going to get to the end of the year, leave for holidays, and then there’s going to be nothing for you to do when you get back. Whereas with just a little bit of smarts over the next three to four weeks and you’ll be amazed at how much more confident you’ll feel both going into holidays and coming out of holidays.
So as salespeople, the more productive we are in these moments—the better our sales life’s going to be both holidays and when we get back. Wishing you an incredibly productive holiday season!
